Plastics are used in a variety of disposable medical products and single use devices. While off-the-shelf plastics have been used in many of these applications, demand continues to grow for custom polymer blends, stabilized polymers and pre-colored polymers for wound care, sterilization trays, packaging and more.
Foster has added state-of-the-art extrusion compounding capacity for custom compounding polymers used in high volume medical applications. Our latest twin screw extrusion line is capable of volume output in excess of 1,000 lbs/hour (454 kg/hour), a necessity for supporting high volume production. Traditional strand cutting and underwater pelletizing are available, the latter for low durometer materials such as urethanes and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) used in flexible bandage, film and tubing applications.
